Isle of Lewis chess pieces are on display at the Royal BC Museum in Victoria.  Museum artists have created near perfect replicas from real walrus ivory that can be handled by visitors.  A whole tusk that has partially been carved as it would have been by the original artists in the 12th century.  Anyone who can afford the $27 admission should take in this once in a lifetime opportunity.
