Lucette Fuerst from Nanoose Bay is 81 and wishes more ladies would join the tournament. Lucette has won the ladies trophy each year that she has played. Lucette plays with the Bishops of Bowser regularly.

Paul Leblanc wins the tournament. The trophy goes back to Victoria for another year after spending the last year in Courtenay. Paul also takes home the tournament pieces and wooden board from Legend Chess Products.
